Jobs…
My current situation of looking for a new job is quite interesting.
1. I get an interview for a position that sounds good according to the online description, but when speaking to them the job is much different than describe. I’m not sure it’s my cup of tea.
2. Haven’t heard back from the job that sounds the best and which I am highly qualified for.
3. Keep getting interview offers from Insurance places. My resume and other info I’ve put on the job sites in no way shows an interest in this area.
4. Today I hear from a car sales place? Apparently, I’d be a good sales person.
Kentucky
In case you’ve never been to Kentucky, here’s what to expect…
A very pretty drive, but with crazy detours and interstates that only run in one direction. .
Mammoth Cave National Park! Great hiking, nice campgrounds, and 3.5 hours underground exploring (or more if you want).
Also, 24 hours of non-stop rain.
(Thankful for a husband that has a good tent to keep us dry!)
A road that “ends in water”. But seriously. You can’t go anywhere but onto a ferry. I admit, I think this is kind of neat. However, you can’t go across after 9:55pm.
I’m not sure what else Kentucky has to offer except the Derby in which I have no interest. It’s an odd state, but I enjoyed it.
Check another state off of my list! Only 37 left to go….Here’s to more traveling…
Asheville
is the greatest city in the world.
One of my favorite things of all time is hopping in my car from my apartment, making two turns, and seeing the skyline of downtown.
Props
So, first of all I have the greatest best friend in the world. She organized a lovely weekend of pre-wedding festivities and although some of them fell through it was a good time.
I’d like to throw out some special props to Zambras who seated us within 5 minutes of walking in to the very crowded restaurant without us having a reservation. Plus we had some dynamite food.
Afterwards we headed on over to the chocolate lounge, which never dissapoints.
20 day count down to being Mrs. Gaffney. :)
I’ve never heard of the God’s Word translation before, but I like the way this passage is written…
“As holy people whom God has chosen and loved, be sympathetic, kind, humble, gentle, and patient. Put up with each other, and forgive each other if anyone has a complaint. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Above all, be loving. This ties everything together perfectly. Also, let Christ’s peace control you. God has called you into this peace by bringing you into one body. Be thankful. Let Christ’s word with all its wisdom and richness live in you. Use psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to teach and instruct yourselves about God’s kindness. Sing to God in your hearts. Everything you say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” — Colossians 3:1-17 (GW)
